Even if you are starting a business on your own you don't need to be alone. Below is a list of organisations that can help you set up and run your new business venture:

  • The Real Business Club

    The Real Business Club provides innovative events and hands-on Business Development Workshops to help professionals and entrepreneurs starting in business, or moving up to the next level, to get established and grow.

  • The Prince's Trust

    The Prince’s Trust can offer financial help to young people with start-up business grants or grants to support you in developing your education. It has incredible resources to help with all stages of starting your own business. 

  • Economic Development

    The Economic Development team works closely with both businesses and business support organisations to bring comercial and economic improvement to Wokingham Borough. One of the Council's priorities is to support the economy through investment in community facilities and infrastructure, combined with appropriate housing development.

  • Wokingham Chamber of Commerce

    The Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce Group works with businesses across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Swindon to help them achieve their full business potential. They offer members a range of services including business advice, networking events, training and international trade support. There is more information online.

  • Federation of Small Business

    The Federation of Small Business aims to be the largest and most effective organisation promoting and protecting the interests of the self-employed and small business in the UK. Becoming a member is easy and can support you legally as well as socially.

  • The Business Growth Hub

    The Business Growth Hub helps small to medium sized companies with business support and points firms in the right direction of opportunities for funding or grants. You can email them on for more information.
